The Selene 1 is a single stage rocket based on the Modular Booster concept. The single stage design is intended to serve as a test rocket to help develop technologies for CSTART'/a> CLLARE project. It will perform suborbital flights with test instrumentation. A gimballed nozzle will provide control for the booster.

The low cost of the Selene 1 will allow it to help fill the market for tourists who desire to experience suborbital flight. The revenue generated through this will help fund CSTART.
