[edit] Suborbital phase

Work in this phase of CLLARE will bring us roughly to the level of the earliest flights of the US Mercury project.

  • Development and static testing of Selene 1 booster.
  • Unmanned suborbital test flights of Selene 1 using boilerplate CLLARE spacecraft.
  • Construction of "basic" version of CLLARE spacecraft.
  • Manned suborbital flights of Selene 1 using "basic" version of CLLARE spacecraft.

At this point of this phase, CLLARE will be roughly at the level of the earliest flights of the US Mercury project. At the end of this phase, CSTART may be in a position to consider:

  • Suborbital research projects
  • Suborbital space tourism ventures

[edit] Orbital phase

  • Development of Selene 2 booster.
  • Unmanned test flights of Selene 2 booster.

At this point of this phase, CSTART may be in a position to consider:

  • Microsatellite research projects
  • Microsatellite launch sale ventures
  • Development of Selene 3 booster.
  • Unmanned orbital test flights of Selene 3 using boilerplate CLLARE spacecraft.
  • Construction of "standard" version of CLLARE spacecraft.
  • Manned orbital fights of Selene 3 using "standard" version of CLLARE spacecraft, without EVA.

At this point of this phase, CLLARE will be roughly at the level of the later flights of the US Mercury project.

At this point of this phase, CSTART may be in a position to consider:

  • Orbital space tourism ventures
  • Development of space suit
  • Manned orbital flights of Selene 3 using "standard" version of CLLARE spacecraft, with EVA.

At this point of this phase, CLLARE will be roughly at the level of the US Gemini project (except for docking experience)

  • Development of Orbital Bus.
  • Unmanned tests of orbital bus (high apogee Earth orbit) using boilerplate CLLARE spacecraft.
  • Construction of "deluxe" version of CLLARE spacecraft.
  • Manned flight of orbital bus (high apogee Earth orbit) using "deluxe" version of CLLARE spacecraft.
  • Unmanned tests of orbital bus (free return translunar trip) using "deluxe" version of CLLARE spacecraft.
  • Manned flights of orbital bus (free return translunar trip) using "deluxe" version of CLLARE spacecraft.
