Hello all. After authoring a post on Reddit today about my very sincere wish to devote myself to helping humanity move into space, I would like to say hello. I am currently an architect/designer, but am almost positive that i am going back to school for aerospace engineering. I am glad to be a new member of this site, and only hope i can add something to the already great content.

Best

Jamie

Welcome aboard!  It is great to have you here, seeing the immense dedication you have made to this cause.

You'll have to excuse us for the fact that CSTART is currently a little bit, let's say intimidating, or overwhelming, for newcomers just now.  We are still trying to make the difficult transition from a fairly small, informal and disorganised group who operate in an ad hoc fashion to a more organised community with proper procedures etc. for getting work done.  Right now in order to really see what work we have done requires you to dive into forums and essentially lead yourself around, but we hope to change this soon.  We have people working on significant website restructurings right now, so hopefully things will be a bit more user friendly soon.

For now, perhaps the most useful thing you can do is to poke around the forums and Wiki at your leisure and, most importantly, ask questions in the forums every time you have them, on anything.  There are several of us who monitor the forum RSS feed and so see each and every new post: someone will always be happy to answer your questions.  Traditionally we have a very low retention rate for newcomers, which is something none of the regulars want, so we will go out of our way to make newcomers feel welcome and help them fit in.  I hope you have fun looking around. sf smile

Main CLLARE workgroups: Mission Planning, Navigation and Guidance. I do maths, physics, C, Python and Java.

Thanks Luke, i definitely will. I'll make myself available for now if anyone needs some CAD/design work done, and once i figure our the next few months of my life i may be able to offer more. For now, i'll just cruise arond and try to get a feel for where everything stands.

I remember reading that post. I thought you would be a perfect match for CSTART.
