Welcome to the team. I also have a little bit of 2d AutoCad experience (2 years in high school + 2 years of mechanical drawing), enough perhaps to design some parts.
The most exciting thing about you is that you work in a machine shop! You have no idea how exciting it is to have someone in the team with direct access to this equipment! So exciting in fact that we could almost begin detailed design of OHKLA parts.
Keep in touch.

Somebody with access to the necessary tools is definitely useful. Are the milling machines you have access to also CNC? Do you use any CAM software to run these, or do you program them manually?
I would like to see that we can get some finally designs sometime soon and manufacture some prototypes. It would also be beneficial to know what is designed can actually be manufactured.

Welcome to the team. I personally have limited access to most of a college engineering department's tools and equipment, but I lack the skills to do much more than rudimentary lathe work and some of the worst welding you have ever seen. It's nice to have someone who actually knows what they are doing on this topic. This is pretty exciting. Within a month or two, we ought to be able to throw together a simple hybrid rocket to play with if we want to, now that you're here to help. I look forward to working with you.
