Just found out about CStART this morning and it looks extremely interesting. I run my own software development company and have some experience with incorporating (though not with a 501c).

My most useful skill that I could apply to the project will be in the programming department (have 10+ years in C#, Java and Python – not adverse to learning other languages if needed). I'm also an electronics/robotics hobbyist and learning more all the time in that field.

Anyway, just started going through all the info on the site and will continue to do so. Hopefully I will be able to contribute. I have to say great work to those who got this started!!

Hello there, and welcome aboard!  It's great to have you here.

You are, of course, welcome to contribute to any of our projects in any way you like, but looking at your skill set, maybe the things which might be the most fun / the easiest for you are:

  • Helping us to improve our suborbital flight simulation software USOFS.  This program is written in Python.  There's a nice forum thread about improving it over here
  • Helping us to sketch the outlines of the onboard electronics for the OHKLA project, which are described briefly in the Wiki here.

If there's anything else you wanted to help with, though, please don't feel afraid to speak up on it, we welcome ideas from everyone!  If you have any questions about any aspect of CSTART and how we work, don't hesitate to ask.

Once again, welcome, I look forward to working with you if you choose to stick around. :)

Main CLLARE workgroups: Mission Planning, Navigation and Guidance. I do maths, physics, C, Python and Java.

Thanks!

I'll start looking through the code for the USOFS software and the graph generation sounds interesting. I'll be on vacation next week with most likely no computer access, but I will post any questions and comments when I get back.

Welcome to the team! Programming talent will be a very important part of this program. Essentially the entire project began with the idea that  the immense power of modern computers would make a trip to the moon easier than it has been in the past. As such, it is necessary that we totally exploit this power to our advantage and advanced software will be required.

I hope you can make yourself at home and find a niche that fits your skills.

Main Workgroups: Propulsion & Spacecraft Engineering
