Use this topic to add your ideas for what would make a good blog post. You can even write your articles here, if selected by the community it will be published on the blog.

We definitely need a first blog post up soon – having an empty blog after so long doesn't look good for us, and also we are likely to want to use the blog sometime soon for a "real" post, regarding our motto competition.
Here's a proposal, comments very welcome:
Welcome to the CSTART blog!
This blog will be used as CSTART's main outlet for news and other important information about the activities of the CSTART organization and progress on our various projects (but don't forget about our Twitter feed or Facebook page as well!). Anybody can propose ideas for blog posts or even write entire candidate posts over in our forums. Posts which earn the general approval of the community and meet a few basic suitability criteria will be published to the blog by an administrator.
Less than two months after our spontaneous birth on Reddit, CSTART has expanded and clarified its goals and principles, establishing a strong sense of purpose and identity. We are now seeking to expand both awareness of CSTART and our active membership so that we can work faster and with more competence toward our goals. To this end, we have initiated contact with a number of other groups engaged in space exploration or research under an open source philosophy, as part of our Friends of CSTART program, and are waiting to hear back. Our preparation toward incorporating so that we can obtain tax exemption status is also continuing.
Stay tuned!
Naturally the actual blog post will contain links to appropriate places.
Do people agree that, rather than having this one post "sticky" at the top of the suggestions and questions subforum, it would make sense to have a dedicated blog ideas subforum, so that there can be one thread per proposed blog post? The problem with our current approach is that over time this thread would grow to be absolutely huge in size, and later on it will be tricky to go back and find comments on a particular post.

A first post like that sounds like a good background of what CSTART is. It is short enough to keep peoples' attention and detailed enough to explain what we do at a basic level.
I think that what we really need to do is make a medium length blog post that essentially details all of the mission details for OHKLA and CLLARE. A nice 10-15 minute read (with diagrams) that will leave the reader with a nice overall picture of how we plan to fly our missions. In the scheme of things CSTART (the organization) is boring, the missions are exciting and they are what will attract donors and members.
With that said, I don't really see any reason not to post what you have written. It doesn't necessarily have to be a polished press release.

As some may have noticed, I have published this entry! The CSTART blog is live!
If anybody has any comments or corrections to point out please let me know – it's easy to update the entries.
Notice that I've gone ahead and created a dedicated subform for community contribution to the blog, as linked to by this first entry.
I'll create a thread there now for Rocket's proposed CLLARE-OHKLA overview post, but I probably won't have time to actually write that entry today. Anybody else can feel absolutely free to make a start!

Would it be worthwhile to submit the blog post to Reddit? We haven't put much up on there lately and it would help to remind the subscribers that we are still alive and well.

Sure, it couldn't hurt, I'll do it now.
EDIT: Although, I did submit the blog entry about Copenhagen Subrorbitals to /r/tothemoon, posting a simple "welcome to our blog" post after that might look a little odd. What do people think?

I didn't realize that you submitted it already; my patience is too low to load Reddit on dial-up. It can't really hurt though, it will hopefully catch the attention of those who didn't log on to Reddit since that post.

Good point, also the first post makes it clear that the blog is community driven and gives a link to the place to post ideas, so it's probably worth publicising even if it is already obvious that the blog is live. i've submitted it.
