Astronautix.com has an excellent page on Gemini.  At the bottom of the page is a large collection of links to very detailed technical descriptions and "development diaries" for major subsystems.  The Gemini craft feels like something more sensible than Apollo to look to for inspiration due to its significantly reduced size and mass.

Main CLLARE workgroups: Mission Planning, Navigation and Guidance. I do maths, physics, C, Python and Java.
