Since I haven't had much of a response, I am going to go ahead and push this through. Starting this Saturday, we will have bi-weekly IRC meetings. Therefor, every odd numbered week (i.e. this is week 45) we will have IRC meetings. The schedule is below:
*note: I'm not sure how the recent daylight savings time affects these. We will follow the GMT time. Please check.
Saturday @ 6am for GMT
Saturday @ 4pm for EDT (Sydney, Australia)
Saturday @ 8am for EET (Helsinki, Finland)
Saturday @ 7am for CET (Paris, France)
Friday night @ midnight (Saturday @ 12:00am) for EST (New York, New York)
Friday night @ 11pm for CST (Chicago, Illinois)
IRC is a fantastic tool. I have been using it more often lately, and find it to be a large help. To be able to discuss in real time is critical for our quick growth. The problem, lately, is that not many members are utilizing this tool. I urge you all to join the channel at any time you are free. Add the channel to an IM client, such as Pidgin or mIRGGI (mIRGGI is for Nokia mobiles. Try to find for your own mobile).
If we set aside a time where a large amount of members will join the channel, we can decide on many issues as well as to discuss many proposals. I urge everyone to join.
We have recently determined a new structure for CSTART. We now have three main areas that make up CSTART. We have Program Chimera, Program Cloudlab and Program COSMOS. At this first meeting, I would like to discuss more on how this will work as well as how to set up the website for this and for the PR group. I would also like to discuss the current status for these three areas as well as the current status of ODE. We also have to determine what to do with incorporating as a non-profit. This is a lot to discuss, but let's at least get moving on this.
I hope to see you all soon on the IRC channel. Join in if even to just say "hi".
Go here through a web browser, which is also as a link on the top bar under "Get Involved" at http://www.cstart.org:
For IM clients:
server: chat.freenode.net
port: 6667
Sorry for the terrible formatting. Perhaps we can also discuss this at the meetings.
