Is it maybe about time to start thinking about putting together:
- A nice shiny Press Pack for CLLARE which explains things with dot points, shiny pictures and catchy, easy to understand snippets? Does anybody know what kind of software would be best for putting this together? I am envisioning a .pdf that is maybe 3 pages long at most and outlines the overall mission, emphasising the parts where we are smaller/lighter/cheaper than Apollo.
- A formal, technical description of the whole CLLARE project, much like the Mercury and Gemini familiarisation manuals I posted a while ago. I think these would best be done in LaTeX to give them a clean, professional look with consistent formatting and easy referencing. The first edition of this would have a lot of stubs in it, but could include what details we are set on or quite keen on so far – nitrous oxide and paraffin hybrid rockets, hydrogen peroxide RCS, Ultracell-style fuel cells, scuba-based life support, etc. Something which collects in one place all the little details which make us not vapourware.
We could plan to do fresh releases of both of these documents every month (or perhaps every quarter if we weren't feeling up to monthly) with the latest details.
It may seem a little early to do this, but at the same time, we're not going to advance beyond this point very quickly without getting more people on board, and things like this, even if incomplete, are going to help bring people aboard more than just our forum and Wiki.
