Today I talked to my college's amature radio club. Apearently, they handle the telemetry and communications for Project Meteor. They use APRS for this stuff, and they showed me a small, self-contained and somewhat armored unit that reports GPS data and can get data from external sensors. I think something like this might work for us.

Main work groups: Propulsion (booster), Spacecraft Engineering, Computer Systems, Navigation and Guidance (software)
