"SPACEHACK a directory of ways to participate in space exploration. interact + connect with the space community."
Has anyone ever looked around here? A friend of mine just showed it to me. It would be great if we could get on this page.

This is a great find! I hadn't heard of this site before. I agree it would be fantastic for CSTART to appear on this site. However, we may wish to wait until we have the ability to accept donations first.

While browsing some of the links on this site, I went to the one about NASA's Moon Work. At the bottom of that page was a promotion for ProE.
Free Pro/ENGINEER Software License from Parametric Technology Corporation
A free license or seat of Pro/ENGINEER Schools Edition 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software is available to all students that enter the contest. Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) manufactures the software and will provide one license to each university student that declares a entry to the contest. The corporation has made this offer in the hopes of improving student’s ability to use the program, thus improving the engineering skill set of the future workforce. If you would like to have Pro/ENGINEER, please email the contest administrator for details. Please note: The use of Pro/ENGINEER is not required for contest participation, nor is NASA endorsing the software or its manufacturer. Click here for information.
I'm not necessarily saying we should join the competition for the free license, I am more suggestion that it might be possible to team up with some software vendors, such as PTC, and receive some licensing.

Yes, I completely agree. I would like to have a great first impression for everyone. Currently, though, there isn't quite enough that would make a majority of people say, "Wow, I want in". Let's try to get there.

I think we are making good progress along these lines. We should only be a few days away from having final versions of our important documents ready for a Wiki freeze. The About and FAQ sections of the webpage have been updated to refer to these documents. The OHKLA and CLLARE project pages are coming along too.

Do people feel like we are ready to submit ourselves to Spacehack.org? We can't accept donations yet but we're not going to be able to for a while let – I think we are ready in every other respect.

I think that this type of corporate sponsorship is almost as good as cash donations.

I have made a submission to SpaceHack. When/if the submission is approved I'll do a blog/reddit/tweet/FB notification.

Lets hope it goes well.
Do we have any idea of who actually visits this site? Is it something that is advertised so that people actually know about it?

We've been accepted! Check us out.
There's a notice about this on the Spacehack Twitter feed as well, which has 1800 followers. This might bring in a rather large influx since all 1800 of those people are almost certainly interested in open source space exploration. I hope we're ready for it!
