Our booster would need to be larger, but I think the LGM-30 serves as an example of how our rocket may work.

This section is particularly noteworthy: "The solid rocket booster made the Minuteman faster to launch than other ICBMs, which used liquid fuels. A crucial innovation in this area was to include a valve to release the booster pressure, and permit effective throttling of the booster". This may provide an alternative to nozzle gimballing in a solid fueled design?

By venting pressure to thrusters? I suppose that would work.
